Heavy Forklift Operator/Material Handler

The primary responsibility of the Heavy Forklift Operator/Material Handler is to receive, verify and unload steel fabrication related deliveries, maintain an organized yard and feel steel into the fabrication shop.  This is primarily an outdoor position in all weather conditions.  CIC's equipment is typically climate controlled and weather related gear is provided.  

The following skills will be required:

• Experience with traditional and multi-directional forklift (CombiLift), certified forklift operator a plus
• Experience unloading flatbed trailers as well as box trucks
• Familiarity with various steel shapes
• Ability to identify and check materials against bills of lading and purchase orders
• Must be able to maintain an organized yard to efficiently feed steel into fabrication shop

The following is required in order to be considered for this position:

• Good communication skills (able to read and speak English)
• Able to work with others in a fast-paced production focused environment
• Comfortable with using technology in a paperless environment, including the use of administrative and production related software programs
• Quality and safety minded, OSHA Certification(s) a plus
• Reliable transportation to work
• Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Able to spend duration of shift standing, walking, performing repetitive actions that include frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching as well as extended periods of time using hand tools
• Possess manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced
• Able to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds
• Able to wear respirator and/or mask for filtering air as necessary
• Work Environment: Enclosed and well-ventilated environment with often extreme hot or cold temperature conditions
