Field Installers / Ironworkers

In collaboration with our related company, Patriot Iron Corporation, we are hiring Field Installers/Ironworkers with experience in structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals.  

The following are the basic responsibilities:
  • Install/erect structural steel and miscellaneous iron products per specifications
  • Welding, fitting and cutting of steel members
  • Handling of material using a variety of field equipment  
  • Rigging of materials to be hoisted or placed
  • Measuring, leveling, drilling of concrete and steel products
  • Using hand and power tools, personnel lifts, example scissor lifts, boom lifts
The following skills will be required:
  • Experience with material handling and all facets associated with installation of StructuralSteel and Miscellaneous Metals
  • Experience with fitting, welding, cutting, and grinding
  • Layout capabilities, including but not limited to:
    • Ability to read and correctly interpret fabrication drawings
    • Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measure, framing square, protractor, laser device, assorted levels
  • Strong knowledge of geometry and algebra
  • Advanced working knowledge of welding machine operation
  • Ability to consistently produce quality welds per specifications, which may include one or more of the following welding processes: SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, STUD
  • Ability to properly use welder’s tools such as chipping hammer, grinder, needle gun, T.C. gun, oxygen-acetylene torch setup, propane pre-heat torch, temperature measuring devices, etc.
The following is required in order to be considered for this position:
  • Good communication skills (able to read and speak English)
  • Able to work with others in a fast-paced production focused environment
  • Ability to work on/in various heights and weather condition
  • Comfortable with using technology in a paperless environment, including the use of administrative and production related software programs
  • Quality and safety minded
  • Reliable transportation to work
  • Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Qualified welder in accordance with D1.1 AWS Welding Standards

Position Qualification Minimums (Education, Training, Experience)
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Three to five years of layout experience as described
  • Three to five years of experience with welding of steel shop assemblies ranging from basic to complex configurations
  • OSHA-10 Certification
  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Hot Work Safety Certification
  • Qualified welder in accordance with D1.1 AWS Welding Standards
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Able to spend duration of shift standing, walking, performing repetitive actions that include frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching as well as extended periods of time using hand tools
  • Possess manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced
  • Able to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Able to wear respirator and/or mask for filtering air as necessary
  • Work Environment: Enclosed and well-ventilated environment with often extreme hot or cold temperature conditions
